Clockwork Phantom (クロックワーク・ファントム, Kurokkuwāku Fantomu), is the machine avatar of Outer God Nyarlathotep and also Nyar's Deus Machina that appeared in Kishin Hishou Demonbane.
Overview[]
Clockwork Phantom's true nature is a chaotic yet orderly, mechanical universe filled with screws, gears, frames, springs and various mechanical parts. With sheer size alone can dwarf the True Cosmos, it can generate all kinds of mechanical parts infinitely, which can fill up the world in a sea of machines.
Clockwork Phantom considers itself to be Hephaestus - the god who granted fire and civilization for humanity. However, if the civilization of mankind reached their peak, Clockwork Phantom/Nyarlathotep will lead them to ruins.
In the final battle of Kishin Hishou, Clockwork Phantom finally transformed itself into a Deus Machina (albeit this is its main body) to fight both Demonbane and Demonbane Two-Sword.

Clockwork Phantom is the most powerful avatar of Nyarlathotep, as well as possessing highest combat strength. Being a genuine Outer God, Clockwork Phantom is more powerful than any Deus Machina (sans for Demonbane) and Great Old One. Its large size aside, even in the form of gears, it nearly crushed Deus Machina Ambrose with a grip from its giant arm, or dissembled Deus Machina Aeon by summoning innumerable tools such as screwdrivers or pliers. It took the combined effort of Demonbane and Demonbane Two-Sword to defeat Clockwork Phantom.
Additionally, Clockwork Phantom can transform every mechanical part in its universe into different forms at will. The most notable example is the army of Tick-Tock Man (チクタクマン, Chikutakuman) - mechanical humans made of screws, gears, springs, steels, wires,... or Tick-Tock the Crocodile.
Attacks[]
Being the final boss of Kishin Hishou, Clockwork Phantom have a variety of techniques/attacks that used to against both Demonbane Two-Sword and Demonbane. The attacks ranged from hurling tons of gears into shooting electrical beams. Its final form - Clockwork Phantom Final Lot can warp everything into Chaos.
First form[]
- Machine Tentacles (鋼の触腕, Ki no Shokuwan): In this form Clockwork Phantom have two giant and long arms that can grip or punch its opponent.
- Left Hand of Glory (レフトハンド・オブ・グローリー, Refutohando obu Gurōrī): Clockwork Phantom summoned a giant U-shaped magnet to attract the enemy, if one is attracted by the Magnet Beam (マグネットビーム, Magunetto Bīmu), it will use its giant arms to slam the enemy from both sides. This attack is strong enough to deal great damage on awakened Demonbane Two-Sword and can bypass even the Elder Sign.
- Gears of Orpheus (オルフィレウスの歯車, Orufireusu no Haguruma): Clockwork Phantom summoned an amount of large clockwork gears and throw them at its enemy.
- Nikola Tesla's Engine - Beam (ニコラ・テスラ機関 - ビーム, Nikora Tesura Kikan - Bīmu): Taken from the inventor Nikola Tesla, Clockwork Phantom shoot out a beam with electrical discharge in straight line. This attack is also called as Electric Beam (エレクトリック・ビーム, Erekutorikku Bīmu).
- Metal Strøm (メタルシュトロォム, Metarushutoroomu. Kanji: Tornado of Steel - 鋼の竜巻, Hagane no Tatsumaki): Clockwork Phantom summon a giant tornado filled with steel to rip apart the enemy. The tornado is getting stronger and larger as Clockwork Phantom's health decreased.
- Cosmic War (宇宙戦争, Uchū Sensō): Clockwork Phantom summon a myriad of UFO-like objects. After that, they will repeatedly attacking the enemy from every directon while leaving a trace of Cosmic Beams. It is virtually impossible to dodge them unless being protected by Elder Sign.
Final Lot[]
- Difference Engine (ディファレンス・エンジン, Difarensu Enjin): Taken from the mechanical calculator with the same name of Charles Babbage, Clockwork Phantom summon countless of driver tools while steaming, those tools will be halted due to the effect of time stopping for a moment, then they will assault their enemy - notably Demonbane from everywhere in the mechanical universe. A blow of Atlantis Strike can stop Clockwork Phantom from initiating this attack.
- Nikola Tesla's Engine - Radiation (ニコラ・テスラ機関 - 放射, Nikora Tesura Kikan - Hōsha): An upgraded version of Nikola Tesla's Engine - Beam, instead of shooting a beam, this attack is now Clockwork Phantom charge a blast of electricity that contains radiation and an electrical ring. Not only more powerful than before, but it can mortally damaged Demonbane if taking a direct hit. The Elder Sign can help Demonbane tank this attack, however. This attack is also called as Electric Blast (エレクトリック・ブラスト, Erekutorikku Burasuto).
- Wired Tales (ワイヤード・テイルズ, Waiyādo Teiruzu): If Demonbane is staying too close to Clockwork Phantom, it will trigger this attack by slashing at Demonbane via a number of electrical wires. The lower Clockwork Phantom's hp, the stronger the attack. Its name is a wordplay of American magazine Weird Tales.
- Sin of Prometheus (プロメテウスの咎, Purometeusu no Toga): Clockwork Phantom summon a nuclear missile then launch into the heavens. When the missile made contact, it will cause a huger explosion a cross the mechanical universe and greatly damage Demonbane, ignoring even the Elder Sign. This attack is reference of the story where Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and gave it to humanity.
- Crawling Chaos (這い寄る混沌, Haiyoru Konton): The final and ultimate attack of Clockwork Phantom. Clockwork Phantom will start condensing darkness into a chaotic black hole then ram it into the enemy. If it hit, Clockwork Phantom/Nyarlathotep will trigger The Haunter of The Dark (闇の跳梁者, Yami no Chōryō-sha). Nyarlathotep's true form which is three burning eyes will appear and sink everything in Chaos. Demonbane will be instantly knocked out regardless of how many health remaining.
